Saint Kateri Tekakwitha,
Model of Fidelity Against Religious Persecution

“Today the Church needs saints. This calls for our combating our attachment to comforts that lead us to choose a comfortable and insignificant mediocrity. Each one of us has the possibility to be a saint, and the way to holiness is prayer. Holiness is, for each of us, a simple duty.” St. Mother Teresa

The true American heroes are not sport or entertainment figures, but Catholic saints. We should turn our “lonely eyes” to them and follow their good examples, virtues and works. They are our true friends and are alive in heaven with God. They are models of holiness for us. They can help us just like friends on earth by their prayerful intercession on our behalf. They give us courage and hope.

July 14 is the feast of one of our saints of the states, St. Kateri Tekakwitha. Let our nation turn its lonely eyes to her for courage and hope. Pope Benedict XVI canonized her at St. Peter’s square in Vatican City October 21, 2012.

The blood of the martyrs is often the water that sprouts the seed of the Catholic faith. The blood of the only martyrs of the United States, Saints Isaac Jogues, Rene Goupil and Jean de la Lande, watered the seed of the faith in the Mohawk Village at Auriesville, New York. Kateri Tekakwitha was born there in 1656, ten years after they were martyred there.
Kateri’s Baptism

Kateri lived in the Mohawk Village with her uncle, the chief of the Turtle Clan, after her parents died from smallpox when she was four. The smallpox left her disfigured with impaired vision. “Tekakwitha” in Mohawk means “one who puts things in order” or “one who feels her way”, because Kateri had to feel her way with her poor eyesight in the darkened lodges. She often stayed in the Longhouse because the sunlight hurt her eyes.

She fell in love with Jesus and decided to remain a virgin. Virginity was unheard of amongst the Indians and they pressured her to marry and to work on Sunday, but she refused to do so. When they connived to have her lodge visited by a young warrior in the hopes of their union, she turned him out. Then the Indians treated her as a slave and put her to work for the village.

In 1666, the French attacked and burned down Kateri’s village. The Mohawks built a new village on the north side of the Mohawk River at Fonda (Caughnawaga), New York. Here Kateri first  heard of the Catholic faith from Father Jacques de Lamberville, a French Jesuit, who occasionally visited her village at St. Peter’s Mission. He baptized her on April 18, 1676 and she took the name Catherine that the Mohawks pronounced “Kateri”.

The other Mohawks persecuted her for her faith. They mocked her devotion to Our Lady and her recitation of the Rosary. Kateri was not deterred, but to avoid the persecution she escaped in 1677 with some companions from the village to Canada. She trekked north through New York and paddled Lake Champlain to Sault Saint-Louis, a Christian Indian Mission near Montreal on the St. Lawrence River. Her journey took over two weeks, traveling by foot and canoe about three hundred miles through woods, rivers, swamps and lakes.

 The Lily of the Mohawks

At the Mission, Kateri lived a life dedicated to prayer, penitential practices and care for the sick and aged. Her day at the Mission began at 4 a.m. each morning in church where she remained for several hours of prayer and Masses. She helped the sick and the poor. She formed a group called the Slavery of the Blessed Virgin and they fasted and endured exposure to the cold in the woods as acts of penance. On March 25, 1679, Kateri was permitted to make a vow of perpetual virginity.

Kateri was a half-blind, pockmarked orphan Indian maiden. She was little more than a slave in her own clan, but in God’s eyes she was His pure daughter and a model for her race. Many Indians followed her good example and converted. Kateri received the Eucharist with the greatest devotion. Father Pierre Cholenec, who prepared her for her First Communion said, “Only God knows what passed between Himself and His dear Spouse.”

Kateri attended daily Masses at 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. and visited the Blessed Sacrament five times daily, after her daily visitations to the sick and the poor. During her own last sickness, she dragged herself to Mass until she could no longer walk. She died at the age of 24 on April 17, 1680 in the presence of Father Cholenec and all of her pox marks disappeared. He said that at the time of her death Kateri’s face “… so disfigured and so swarthy in life, suddenly changed about fifteen minutes after her death, and in an instant became so beautiful and so fair that just as soon as I saw it (I was praying by her side) I let out a yell, I was so astonished.”

Two hundred and ninety three years later on the very same date, April 17, 1973, young Peter McCauley’s hearing was spontaneously restored through Kateri’s intercession. This was the miracle that led to her beatification by Pope John Paul II on June 22, 1980.

Pope Benedict XVI canonized Kateri on October 21, 2012. He called St. Kateri the “protectress of Canada and the first Native American saint” and he entrusted to her “the renewal of the faith in the First Nations and in all of North America.”

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Philadelphia, who is of American Indian descent, said, “I think many young people today are embarrassed about embracing the Catholic faith because they live in a secular culture that’s hostile toward religious experience. St. Kateri also grew up in a place where there was great hostility toward Christianity, but she resisted all efforts to turn her away from her faith, so in some ways she would be a model of fidelity in the face of persecution on religious freedom grounds.”

Kateri’s Feast Day is July 14. Because of her purity, she is known as the “Lily of the Mohawks.”

St. Benedict Feast Day – July 11

St. Benedict is believed to have been born around 480, as the son to a Roman noble of Norcia and the twin to his sister, Scholastica.

In the fifth century, the young Benedict was sent to Rome to finish his education with a nurse/housekeeper. The subject that dominated a young man’s study then was rhetoric — the art of persuasive speaking. A successful speaker was not one who had the best argument or conveyed the truth, but one who used rhythm, eloquence, and technique to convince. The power of the voice without foundation in the heart was the goal of the student’s education. And that philosophy was reflected in the lives of the students as well. They had everything — education, wealth, youth — and they spent all of it in the pursuit of pleasure, not truth. Benedict watched in horror as vice unraveled the lives and ethics of his companions.

Afraid for his soul, Benedict fled Rome, gave up his inheritance and lived in a small village with his nurse. When God called him beyond this quiet life to an even deeper solitude, he went to the mountains of Subiaco. Although becoming a hermit was not his purpose in leaving, there he lived as a hermit under the direction of another hermit, Romanus.

One day, during his time living in a cave above a lake as a hermit, the Devil presented Benedict’s imagination with a beautiful, tempting woman. Benedict resisted by rolling his body into a thorn bush until it was covered in scrapes. It is said through these body wounds, he cured the wounds of his soul.

After years of prayer, word of his holiness brought nearby monks to ask for his leadership. He warned them he would be too strict for them, but they insisted — then tried to poison him when his warning proved true. The story goes, the monks attempted to poison Benedict’s drink, but when he prayed a blessing over the cup – it shattered.

So Benedict was on his own again — but not for long. The next set of followers were more sincere and he set up twelve monasteries in Subiaco where monks lived in separate communities of twelve.

He left these monasteries abruptly when the envious attacks of another hermit made it impossible to continue the spiritual leadership he had taken.

But it was in Monte Cassino he founded the monastery that became the roots of the Church’s monastic system. Instead of founding small separate communities he gathered his disciples into one whole community. His own sister, Saint Scholastica, settled nearby to live a religious life.

After almost 1,500 years of monastic tradition his direction seems obvious to us. However, Benedict was an innovator. No one had ever set up communities like his before or directed them with a rule. What is part of history to us now was a bold, risky step into the future.

Benedict had the holiness and the ability to take this step. His beliefs and instructions on religious life were collected in what is now known as the Rule of Saint Benedict — still directing religious life after 15 centuries.

In this tiny but powerful Rule, Benedict put what he had learned about the power of speaking and oratorical rhythms at the service of the Gospel. He did not drop out of school because he did not understand the subject! Scholars have told us that his Rule reflects an understanding of and skill with the rhetorical rules of the time. Despite his experience at school, he understood rhetoric was as much a tool as a hammer was. A hammer could be used to build a house or hit someone over the head. Rhetoric could be used to promote vice … or promote God. Benedict did not shun rhetoric because it had been used to seduce people to vice; he reformed it.

Benedict did not want to lose the power of voice to reach up to God simply because others had use it to sink down to the gutter. He reminded us “Let us consider our place in sight of God and of his angels. Let us rise in chanting that our hearts and voices harmonize.” There was always a voice reading aloud in his communities at meals, to receive guests, to educate novices. Hearing words one time was not enough — “We wish this Rule to be read frequently to the community.”

Benedict realized the strongest and truest foundation for the power of words was the Word of God itself: “For what page or word of the Bible is not a perfect rule for temporal life?” He had experienced the power of God’s word as expressed in Scripture: “For just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down and do not return there till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, giving seed to him who sows and bread to him who eats, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10-11).

For prayer, Benedict turned to the psalms, the very songs and poems from the Jewish liturgy that Jesus himself had prayed. To join our voices with Jesus in praise of God during the day was so important that Benedict called it the “Work of God.” And nothing was to be put before the work of God. “Immediately upon hearing the signal for the Divine Office all work will cease.” Benedict believed with Jesus that “One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God’ ” (Matthew 4:4).

But it wasn’t enough to just speak the words. Benedict instructed his followers to practice sacred reading — the study of the very Scriptures they would be praying in the Work of God. In this lectio divina, he and his monks memorized the Scripture, studied it, and contemplated it until it became part of their being. Four to six hours were set aside each day for this sacred reading. If monks had free time it “should be used by the brothers to practice psalms.” Lessons from Scripture were to be spoken from memory not read from a book. On Benedict’s list of “Instruments of Good Works” is “to enjoy holy readings.”

In one story of Benedict’s life, a poor man came to the monastery begging for a little oil. Although Benedict commanded that the oil be given, the cellarer refused — because there was only a tiny bit of oil left. If the cellarer gave any oil as alms there would be none for the monastery. Angry at this distrust of God’s providence, Benedict knelt down to pray. As he prayed a bubbling sound came from inside the oil jar. The monks watched in fascination as oil from God filled the vessel so completely that it overflowed, leaked out beneath the lid and finally pushed the cover off, cascading out on to the floor.

In Benedictine prayer, our hearts are the vessel empty of thoughts and intellectual striving. All that remains is the trust in God’s providence to fill us. Emptying ourselves this way brings God’s abundant goodness bubbling up in our hearts, first with an inspiration or two, and finally overflowing our heart with contemplative love.

Benedict died on 21 March 543, not long after his sister. It is said he died with high fever on the very day God told him he would. He is the patron saint of Europe and students.

Abbot

INTROIT Ps. 25:11-12
Redeem me, O Lord, and have pity on me, for my foot stands on the right path. In the assemblies I will bless the Lord.
Ps. 25:1. Do me justice, O Lord, for I have walked in innocence, and in the Lord I trust without wavering.
V. Glory be . . .

COLLECT
O Almighty God, while Your servants mortify their bodies by fasting, may they also follow after righteousness and avoid sin. Through Our Lord . . .

Let the blessed Abbot Benedict intercede for us, O Lord. May his prayers win us Your help, since our own actions cannot merit it. Through Our Lord . . .

LESSON Dan. 9:15-19
In those days, Daniel prayed to the Lord, saying, “O Lord, our God, who hast brought forth thy people out of the land of Egypt, with a strong hand, and hast made thee a name as at this day: we have sinned, we have committed iniquity, O Lord, against all thy justice: let thy wrath and thy indignation be turned away, I beseech thee, from thy city, Jerusalem, and from thy holy mountain. For by reason of our sins, and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem, and thy people, are a reproach to all that are round about us.
“Now, therefore, O our God, hear the supplication of thy servant, and his prayers: and shew thy face upon thy sanctuary, which is desolate, for thy own sake. Incline, O my God, thy ear, and hear: open thy eyes, and see our desolation, and the city upon which thy name is called: for it is not for our justifications that we present our prayers before thy face, but for the multitude of thy tender mercies. O Lord, hear: O Lord, be appeased: hearken, and do: delay not, for thy own sake, O my God: because thy name is invocated upon thy city, and upon thy people.”

GRADUAL Ps. 69:6, 3
Help me and deliver me, O Lord, make no delay! V. Let my enemies who seek my life be put to shame and confounded.

TRACT Ps. 102:10; 78:8-9
O Lord, repay us not according to the sins we have committed, nor according to our iniquities. V. O Lord, remember not our iniquities of the past; let Your mercy come quickly to us, for we are being brought very low. (All kneel.) V. Help us, O God our Savior, and for the glory of Your name. O Lord, deliver us; and pardon us our sins for Your name’s sake.

GOSPEL John 8:21-29
At that time, Jesus said to them: “I go: and you shall seek me. And you shall die in your sin. Whither I go, you cannot come.” The Jews therefore said: “Will he kill himself, because he said: Whither I go you cannot come?”
And he said to them: “You are from beneath: I am from above. You are of this world: I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you shall die in your sins. For if you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sin.” They said therefore to him: “Who art thou?” Jesus said to them: “The beginning, who also speak unto you. Many things I have to speak and to judge of you. But he that sent me, is true: and the things I have heard of him, these same I speak in the world.” And they understood not that he called God his Father.
Jesus therefore said to them: “When you shall have lifted up, the Son of man, then shall you know that I am he and that I do nothing of myself. But as the Father hath taught me, these things I speak. And he that sent me is with me: and he hath not left me alone. For I do always the things that please him.”

OFFERTORY Ps. 15:7, 8
I bless the Lord, who has given me understanding. I set the Lord ever before me; with Him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.

From The Book of Heaven

Volume 25 – 10.10.28
Then, as I am near my Jesus in the Sacrament, every morning there is benediction with the Most Holy One, and while I was praying my sweet Jesus to bless me, moving in my interior, He told me: “My daughter, I bless you with my whole Heart; even more, I bless my very Will in you, I bless your thoughts, breaths and heartbeats, that you may think always about My Will, may breath It continuously, and My Will alone may be your heartbeat. And for love of you I bless all human wills, that they may dispose themselves to receive the Life of my Eternal Volition. Dearest daughter of mine, if you knew how sweet it is, how happy I feel in blessing the little daughter of My Will…. My Heart rejoices in blessing she who possesses the origin, the Life of Our Fiat, which will bring about the beginning, the origin of the Kingdom of my Divine Will. And while I bless you, I pour in you the beneficial dew of the light of my Divine Volition which, making you all shining, will make you appear more beautiful to my sacramental gazes; and I will feel happier in this cell, gazing at my little prisoner daughter, invested and bound by the sweet chains of My Will. And every time I bless you, I will make the Life of my Divine Volition grow in you. How beautiful is the company of one who does my Divine Will. My Will brings into the depth of the soul the echo of everything I do in this Holy Host, and I do not feel alone in my acts – I feel that she is praying together with Me; and as our supplications, our sighs, unite together, we ask for one same thing – that the Divine Will be known and that Its Kingdom come soon.”

Volume 25 – 11.4.28
After this, benediction was given with the Most Holy Sacrament, and I prayed Him from the heart to bless me; and Jesus, moving in my interior, echoing what Jesus in the Sacrament was doing, raised His blessed right hand in the act of blessing me, and told me: “My daughter, I bless your heart, and I seal my Divine Will in it, so that your heart, united with my Divine Will, may palpitate in all hearts, so that you may call all hearts to love It. I bless your thoughts, and I seal my Divine Will in them, that you may call all intelligences to know It. I bless your mouth, so that my Divine Will may flow in your voice, and you may call all human voices to speak about my Fiat. I bless all of you, my daughter, so that everything may call my Divine Volition in you, and you may run to all in order to make It known. O! how much happier I feel in operating, praying, blessing in one in whom My Will reigns. In this soul I find my life, the light, the company; and everything I do arises immediately, and I see the effects of my acts; and I am not alone if I pray, if I operate, but I have company, and one who works together with Me. On the other hand, in this sacramental prison, the accidents of the host are mute, they say not a word to Me, I do everything on my own, I feel not a sigh which would unite to mine, nor a heartbeat which would love Me. On the contrary, there is the cold of a sepulcher for Me, which not only keeps Me in prison, but buries Me, and I have no one to whom to say a word, nor anyone with whom to pour Myself out; because the host does not speak, I am always in silence, and with divine patience I wait for hearts that receive Me, so as to  break my silence and enjoy a little bit of company. And in the soul in whom I find my Divine Will I feel Myself repatriated in the Celestial Fatherland….”

Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist – 6/24

Today we celebrate the birthday of St. John the Baptist – one of three birthdays in the Catholic liturgical calendar, the others being that of the Lord Jesus Christ  Himself and of His Blessed Mother. It is interesting to note that St. John the Baptist’s birthday comes just as the days are starting to get shorter (in the Northern Hemisphere), whereas Christ’s birthday comes just as they are starting to get longer:   “He must increase, I must decrease” (John 3:30).

From the Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will – Meditation 1 – After many days of travel, finally I arrived in Judea, and I hastened to the house of Elisabeth. She came toward Me in feast. At the greeting I gave her, marvelous phenomena occurred. My little Jesus exulted in My womb, and fixing little John in the womb of his mother with the Rays of His Divinity, He Sanctified him, gave him the use of Reason, and made known to him that He was the Son of God. And John leaped so vigorously with love and with joy that Elisabeth was shaken. Touched by the Light of the Divinity of My Son, she too recognized that I had become the Mother of God; and in the emphasis of her love, trembling with gratitude, she exclaimed:
“Whence comes to me so much honor, that the Mother of my Lord would come to me?” I did not deny the highest mystery; rather, I humbly confirmed it. Praising God with the song of the Magnificat – sublime canticle, through which the Church continuously honors Me – I announced that the Lord had done great things in Me, His servant, and that because of this, all peoples would call Me Blessed.
My child, I felt devoured with the desire to pour out the flames of love that consumed Me, and to reveal My Secret to Elisabeth, who also longed for the Messiah to come upon earth. A secret is a need of the heart which is revealed, irresistibly, to persons who are capable of understanding each other.
Who can ever tell you how much good My visit brought to Elisabeth, to John, and to their whole household? Everyone was Sanctified, filled with Gladness, felt unusual Joys, and comprehended things unheard-of. John, in particular, received all the Graces which were necessary for him, to prepare himself to be the Precursor of My Son.

Reflections on Luisa’s Name Saint

Luigi: A Eucharistic Saint

Link to a Prayer to BVM by St. Aloysius

Holy Mary, My Queen I commend myself to Your Blessed Protection and Special Keeping and to the Bosom of Your Mercy this day and every day of my life and the hour of my death. I entrust to you all my hopes and consolations all my trials and miseries my life and the end of my life that through Your Most Holy Intercession and Your Merits all my actions may be ordered and directed according to Your Will and that of Your Son. Amen

Saint Aloysius, Luigi to call him by his proper name, may well be the most loved Jesuit in history. Luigi contracted the plague from those whom he was nursing. He foresaw his own death and asked Our Lord that he might die within the Octave of Corpus Christi. He died, in fact, on the Octave Day of Corpus Christi with the name of Jesus on his lips.

Come Divine Will thru little mamma Luisa

please intercede for us

  • He is known for his purity and the performance of great austerities and religious practices.
  • St. Aloysius joined the Jesuits in Rome in 1585.
  • He has been declared Protector of young students and Patron of Catholic Youth.
  • This was the Saint that Jesus wanted The Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta to be named after.

Volume 2 – June 20, 1899

Afterwards, Heaven opened; it seemed that a very great feast was being prepared.  At that very moment a young man of lovely appearance came down from Heaven, all dazzling with fire and flames.  Jesus told me:  “Tomorrow is the feast of my dear Aloysius – I must go attend.”  And I:  ‘And so You leave me alone – what shall I do?’  And He:  “You too will come.  Look at how beautiful Aloysius is; but the greatest thing in him, which distinguished him on earth, was the love with which he operated.  Everything was love in him – love occupied him interiorly, love surrounded him externally; so, one can say that even his breath was love.  This is why it is said of him that he never suffered distraction – because love inundated him everywhere, and with this love he will be inundated eternally, as you see.”

And in fact it seemed that the love of Saint Aloysius was so very great, as to be able to burn the whole world to ashes.  Then, Jesus added:  “I stroll over the highest mountains, and there I form my delight.”  Since I did not understand the meaning of it, He continued:  “The highest mountains are the Saints who have loved Me the most, and in them I form my delight, both when they are on earth, and when they pass into Heaven.  So, everything is in love.”  After this, I prayed Jesus to bless me and those whom I was seeing at that moment; and He, giving His blessing, disappeared.

Volume 19 June 21, 1926; Saint Aloysius was a flower that bloomed from the Humanity of Our Lord, made bright by the rays of the Divine Will.  The souls who will possess the Kingdom of the Divine Will will have their roots within Its Sun.

This morning, having received Holy Communion, I received It as usual in the Most Holy Will of God, offering It to my dear Saint Aloysius – not only the Communion, but all the goods contained in the Most Holy Will of God, for his accidental glory.  Now, while doing this, I saw that all the goods contained in the Supreme Volition, like many rays of light, rays of beauty and of multiple colors, inundated the dear Saint, giving him an infinite glory.  And my sweet Jesus, moving in my interior, told me:  “My daughter, Aloysius is a flower and a Saint bloomed from the earth of my Humanity and made bright by the reflections of the rays of the Sun of my Will.  In fact, though, holy, pure, noble and united hypostatically to the Word, my Humanity was earth; and Aloysius, more than flower, bloomed from my Humanity – pure, holy, noble, possessing the root of pure love, in such a way that in each leaf of his flower one can see written, ‘love’.  But what renders him more beautiful and brilliant are the rays of my Will, to which he was always submitted – rays which gave such development to this flower as to render it unique on earth and in Heaven.  Now, my daughter, if Aloysius is so beautiful because he bloomed from my Humanity, what will be of you and of all those who will possess the Kingdom of my Will?  These flowers will not bloom from my Humanity, but will have their roots within the Sun of my Will.  In It is formed the flower of their life; they grow and bloom in the very Sun of my Volition which, jealous of these flowers, will keep them eclipsed within Its own light.  In each petal of these flowers one will see, written, all the specialties of the divine qualities; they will be the enchantment of all Heaven, and all will recognize in them the complete work of their Creator.”

And while He was saying this, my sweet Jesus opened His breast and showed, inside it, an immense Sun, in which He was to plant all these flowers; and His love and jealousy toward them was so great, that He would not let them bloom outside His Humanity, but inside Himself.

Volume 26 – June 27, 1929

Having received Holy Communion, I was offering It for the glory of Saint Aloysius, and I offered, as a present for him, everything that Our Lord had done in His Divine Will with His mind, with His words, works and steps, for the accidental glory of Saint Aloysius on his feast day.  Now, while I was doing this, my sweet Jesus, moving in my interior, told me:  “My daughter, a more beautiful present you could not give to dear Saint Aloysius on the day of his feast.  As you were offering your Communion and all my acts done in my Divine Will, so many suns were formed for as many acts as I did in It while being on earth; and these suns invested Saint Aloysius, in such a way that he received so much accidental glory from the earth, that he could not receive more.  Only the offerings of acts done in my Divine Will have the virtue of forming their suns, because, containing the fullness of light, it is no wonder that It converts into suns the human acts done in It.”

Volume 26 – June 27, 1929
Having received Holy Communion, I was offering my Holy Communion for the glory of
Saint Aloysius (__________), and I offered It, as a present for him/her,

everything that Our Lord had done in His Divine Will with His mind,

with His words, His works and His steps, for the accidental glory of
Saint Aloysius (___________) on this his/her feast day.

Now, while I was doing this, my sweet Jesus, moving in my interior,
told me:

“My daughter, a more beautiful present you could not give
to dear Saint Aloysius (_____________) on the day of his feast.
As you were offering your Holy Communion and all My Acts done in My Divine Will,
so many suns were formed for as many Acts as I (Jesus) did in the Divine Will while being on earth;
and these suns invested Saint Aloysius (______________),
in such a way that he/she received so much accidental glory from the earth,
that he/she could not receive more.

Only the offerings of Acts done in My Most Holy Divine Will have the virtue
of forming their suns, because, containing the Fullness of Light,
it is no wonder that the Divine Will converts into suns the human acts done in the Divine Will.”

“Blessed daughter of my Volition, you have reason, the waves of my Volition inundate you, drown you and your little capacity remains lost and needs your Jesus in order to better explain that which you see, but don’t know how to say.  Now know my daughter, our love is such and so much for one who wants to live and lives in our Divine Volition that we want to make them participant with all our works, for as much as (a) creature it is possible, also giving her the merit of our divine works.  As the creature enters in our Will, He calls in act his Divine work as if in that instant the same (was) operating, and uniting her in his act, he makes her see the prodigies of his work, and receives and confirms her in the good, making her feel the new life of his act; you have seen the conception of the Sovereign Queen, and how you being in my Will, you have found yourself conceived in Her Maternal Heart, you see the great difference for who lives in my Volition, the prodigies of the Immaculate Conception were unheard of.  My Will that animated this conception, which no one can escape from, called present all creatures, so that they might remain conceived in her virgin Heart, and might receive her maternity, her help, her defense, they might find the refuge, the support in this Celestial Mother.

Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

In the Kingdom of the Divine Will

Letter 20.  From Luisa To Federico Abresch from Bologna

Feast of the Sacred Heart of JesusIn Voluntate Dei! – Fiat

Most esteemed one in the Lord,

You cannot imagine the contentment I feel when I hear that one wants to live in the Divine Will, because it is a victory of Jesus; and as He conquers our will, we conquer His Own.  In the Kingdom of the Divine Will no one loses, we are all winners, both God and the creature.

I am surprised by your doubts.  How is it?  Don’t you know that Redemption is preparation for the Kingdom of the Divine Will?  And the Sacred Heart of Jesus is nothing other than the immense Reign of His Most Holy Divine Will.  It is not the Heart that dominates; it is the Divine Will that dominates His Divine Heart.  Poor Heart, if it did not have a Will to dominate it, it would be good at nothing.  If the will is good, the heart is good; if the will is holy, the heart is holy.  If our will gives place to the Divine, letting It raise Its throne in our will, the heart acquires the divine qualities by grace.  Therefore, both in the Divine and in the human order, it is always the will that has the first place, the prime act, its rule.  The heart and all the rest are in the secondary order… Therefore, to say that the Heart reigns, if the Divine Will does not reign, is absurd.  They can be called devotions, pious practices…; if the Divine Will does not reign, the Kingdom does not exist.  It exists in Heaven, but has no place on earth.  However, the Holy Church, organ and messenger of the Supreme Fiat, through the Sacred Heart, through the Celestial Mama, beseeches the Kingdom of the Divine Will.  She does not say it with words, but says it with facts.  The Divine Volition is the King – His Heart, His wounds, His precious Blood, the sweet Queen, form the ministers that surround the King, and through them beseech the Kingdom of the Divine Will in souls.

Now, how can one know It?  All the necessary things, the different circumstances in which we may find ourselves, are Will of God for us.  If we are really determined to live in It, God is so pleased that, if miracles are needed, He will make them in order not to let us use our will.  It is up to us to truly decide, and be willing to give even our life in order to live in It; and dear Jesus and the Sovereign Queen will take on the commitment, will be our sentries, and will surround us with such graces as to not let us be betrayed by our own wills.  More so, since our Lord does not teach difficult things, nor does He impose them or want them, but He facilitates all that He wants from us in an admirable way; even more, He puts Himself in our place to make it easy for us, and does together with us all that He wants us to do.

I commend myself to your prayers and also to my good daughter Amelia.  Make yourselves saints.  May the Divine Volition stretch out Its arms to you, to raise you in Its womb.  Look at all things as bearers of It, to give you Its life, Its sanctity… The little one – raise him holy, as a gift of the Fiat; who knows whether your desires to see him religious and holy may not be fulfilled.  So I leave you all in the Divine Volition; let me always find you in It.  And with a thousand regards to the father, to the mother and to the son, I say, most affectionately yours,

Luisa Piccarreta
the little daughter of the Divine Will

The Feast of the Sacred Heart and Promises

The Sacred Heart of Jesus feast and devotion was established as a result of Jesus Himself appearing to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and requesting it. This day again leads us to Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament where He continues to manifest His tremendous Love, Mercy and Compassion for all of humankind. The messages that Our Lord gave were primarily centered on His Most Blessed Sacrament.

In His apparitions to St. Margaret Mary Jesus gave her three reasons why He wanted the feast of His Sacred Heart established:

  1. In order that the faithful should return thanks to Him for the great gift which he has left them in the Adorable Eucharist.
  2. In order that loving souls should make amends by their prayers and pious affections for the irreverences and insults which He has received and still receives from sinners in this Most Holy Sacrament.
  3. In order that they might make up also for the honor which he does not receive in so many churches where he is so little adored and reverenced.

Jesus promised that He would make the riches of His Sacred Heart abound towards those who should render Him this honor, both on the day of this feast, and on every other day when they should visit Him in The Most Holy Sacrament.

The Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary

  1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life.
  2. I will give peace in their families.
  3. I will console them in all their troubles.
  4. They shall find in My Heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of death.
  5. I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings.
  6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
  7. Tepid souls shall become fervent.
  8. Fervent souls shall speedily rise to great perfection.
  9. I will bless the homes in which the image of My Sacred Heart shall be exposed and honored.
  10. I will give to priests the power to touch the most hardened hearts.
  11. Those who propagate this devotion shall have their name written in My Heart, and it shall never be effaced.
  12. The all-powerful love of My Heart will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under My displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments; My Heart shall be their assured refuge at that last hour.

“And He showed me that it was His great desire of being loved by men and of withdrawing them from the path of ruin into which Satan hurls such crowds of them, that made Him form the design of manifesting His Heart to men, with all the treasures of love, of mercy, of grace, of sanctification and salvation which It contains, in order that those who desire to render Him and procure for Him all the honour and love possible, might themselves be abundantly enriched with those divine treasures of which this Heart is the source.  He should be honored under the figure of this Heart of flesh, and Its image should be exposed … He promised me that wherever this image should be exposed with a view to showing It special honour, He would pour forth His blessings and graces.  This devotion was the last effort of His love that He would grant to men in these latter ages, in order to withdraw them from the empire of Satan which He desired to destroy, and thus to introduce them into the sweet liberty of the rule of His love, which He wished to restore in the hearts of all those who should embrace this devotion.” (St. Margaret Mary)

Feast of Corpus Christi – 6/11

Link to the Feast of Corpus Christi in the Divine Will

V24 – 6.12.28

“After this, since it was the Feast of Corpus Domini,

I was thinking to myself that that day was the Feast of the Marriage that Blessed Jesus did with souls in the Most Holy Sacrament of Love.

And my Beloved Jesus, Moving in my interior, told me:

“My daughter, the True Marriage with humanity was done in Creation.

Nothing was lacking, either to the soul or to the body; everything was done with Royal Sumptuousness.

An Immense Palace was Prepared for the human nature, such that no king or emperor can have one similar to it, which is the Whole Universe:

a starry heaven and its vault, a sun whose light would never be extinguished; flourishing gardens in which the happy couple, God and man, would Stroll, Amuse itself and Maintain the Continuous, Uninterrupted Feast of our Marriage; and Garments, Woven not with matter, but Formed of Purest Light by Our Power, as Befitted Royal Persons.

Everything was Beauty in man, soul and body, because the One Who Prepared the Marriage and Formed it was of an Unreachable Beauty.

So, from the external Sumptuousness of the So Many Enchanting Beauties Present in the Whole of Creation, you can imagine the internal Seas of Sanctity, of Beauty, of Light, of Science, etc., which the interior of man Possessed.

All the Acts of man, internal and external, were as Many Musical Keys which Formed the Most Beautiful Melodies, Sweet, Melodious, Harmonious, which Maintained the Joy of the Marriage.

And each Additional Act that he would Dispose himself to do was a New little Sonata that he would Prepare, to Call his Spouse to Delight with him.”

Novena to Immaculate Heart of Mary – June 8 – 16

Novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the Most Holy Divine Will

June 8 – June 16, 2023

Day 1 – June 16

V19 – 6.20.26 – “…if I came in Redemption, I came to realize My Ideal and My Primary Purpose – that is, the Kingdom of My Will in souls.  This is so True, that in order to come, I formed My First Kingdom of the Supreme Volition in the Heart of My Immaculate Mama – outside of My Kingdom I would never have come upon earth.”

Prayer:  Holy Mama…I want to tell You many things; I want to enclose my pains, my fears, my weaknesses, and all my being in Your Maternal Heart, as the place of my Refuge – I want to Consecrate my will to You. O Please! My Mama, accept it; make of it a Triumph of Grace, and a Field upon which the Divine Will may extend Its Kingdom!

Day 2 – June 17

V21 – 4.8.27 – “All the prophets symbolized the Grace, the Communications, the Intimacies with God which, more than they did, the Children of My Divine Fiat would possess.

See, all these were but symbols – images of them; what shall happen when the lives of these symbols shall come out?  After all these came the Celestial Lady, the Sovereign Empress, the Immaculate, the Spotless – My Mother.  She was not symbol or image, but the reality – the True Life, the First Privileged Daughter of My Will; and in the Queen of Heaven I looked at the generation of the Children of My Kingdom.  She was the First Incomparable Creature, Who Possessed, intact, the Life of the Supreme Volition, and therefore She deserved to Conceive the Eternal Word, and to Mature within Her Maternal Heart the generation of the Children of the Eternal Fiat.”

Day 3 – June 18

V24 – 8.15.28 – “My daughter, the Glory of the Mama of Heaven is Insuperable.  No one else in the Celestial Regions Possesses Seas of Graces, of Light, Seas of Beauty and of Sanctity, Seas of Power, of Science and of Love; and what is more, She Possesses these Seas within the Endless Sea of Her Creator.  The other inhabitants of the Blessed Fatherland possess, at most, some, little rivulets, some, little drops, some, little fountains.  She is the only One, because She alone Lived Life in the Divine Fiat.  Never did the human volition take place in Her – Her Life was all of Divine Will; and by Virtue of It, She Centralized all creatures within Herself, Conceiving them in Her Maternal Heart, and Bilocating Her Son Jesus as many times, to give Him to each creature whom She had Conceived within Her Virginal Heart.

This is why Her Maternity is extended to all, and all can boast and say:  ‘The Mother of Jesus is my Mother, and this Mother so Sweet, Lovable, Loving, gives Her Beloved Son to each one of us as Pledge of Her Maternal Love.’

Day 4 – June 19

V26 – 9.8.29 – “This Celestial Baby Girl, by keeping Our Divine Will intact within Her soul, without ever doing Her own, reacquired all the Rights of Adam Innocent before Her Creator, and the Sovereignty over all Creation.  Therefore, all felt themselves being Reborn in Her, and We saw in this Holy Virgin, in Her little Heart, all the seeds of the human generations.  So, through Her, humanity reacquired the Rights lost, and this is why Her Birth was the most Beautiful, the most Glorious Birth.  From Her very Birth, She Enclosed within Her Maternal little Heart, as though in-between Two Wings, all generations, as Children Reborn in Her Virginal Heart, so as to Warm them, keep them Sheltered, and Raise them and Nourish them with the Blood of Her Maternal Heart.  This is the reason why this Tender Celestial Mother Loves creatures so much – because all are Reborn in Her, and She feels the Life of Her Children within Her Heart.  What can Our Divine Will not do wherever It Reigns and has Its Life?  It Encloses everything and everyone, and makes one the Provider of Good to all.  So, all feel, under Her Blue Mantle, the Maternal Wing of their Celestial Mother, and they find in Her Maternal Heart their little place in which to take cover.”

Day 5 – June 20

V33 – 2.4.34 – “Now, the Celestial Queen Enraptured Us with Her Beauty, and Our Love ran and ran; with Her Love She Wounded Us, and Our Love, Overflowing, hid within Her; and looking at all creatures through Her Beauty and Her Love, Our Love Poured Itself out, and We Loved all creatures with Love Hidden in this Celestial Queen.  So, We Loved all in Her; seen through Her Beauty, they no longer seemed ugly to Us; Our Love was no longer restricted within Us, but Diffused in the Heart of a Creature so Holy.  And by Our Communicating to Her Our Divine Paternity and Loving everyone in Her, She acquired the Divine Maternity, to be able to Love all as Her Children, Generated by Her Celestial Father.  As She felt that We Loved all creatures in Her, so She felt that Our Love Formed the New Generation of all mankind within Her Maternal Heart.”

Day 6 – June 21

V33 – 2.4.34 – After this, I continued to think about the Divine Will.  The thought that my Celestial Mama Possessed in Her Maternal Heart the Hidden Love with which my Creator Loved me Filled me with Joy, thinking that I was looked upon by God from within my Dear Celestial Mother, through Her Sanctity and Her Enrapturing Beauty.  Oh! how Happy I felt, and all Trust, for I no longer was to be Loved and Gazed upon by myself, but Loved and Gazed upon together with my Mama.  Oh! She – to make me Loved more by my Jesus – shall Cover me with Her Virtues, She shall Clothe me with Her Beauty, and shall hide my miseries and my weaknesses.

Day 7 – June 22

“…the Sovereign Lady, in Heaven, still Possesses Our Hidden Love toward each creature; even more, feeling Her Creator loving all creatures from within Her Maternal Heart is Her greatest Contentment; and She, Acting as True Mother, how many times She Hides them inside Her Love, to make them Loved; inside Her Sorrows, for them to be forgiven; inside Her Prayers, to obtain for them the Greatest Graces.  Oh! She is the Coverer Who Knows how to Cover and Excuse Her children before the Throne of Our Majesty.  Therefore, let yourself be Covered by your Celestial Mama, Who shall take care of the needs of Her daughter.”

Day 8 – June 23

V34 – 12.8.35 – “…by Possessing Our Will as Life, the Sovereign Queen, had always something to give Us, always something to say; She kept Us always occupied, and We had always something to Give, and always Our Loving Secrets to Communicate to Her, So Much So, that We do nothing without Her:  We deal with Her First, then We Deposit that Good in Her Maternal Heart, and from Her Heart it descends into the Fortunate one who must receive that Good.  Therefore, there is no Grace that Descends upon earth, there is no Sanctity that is Formed, there is no sinner that is converted, there is no Love that Departs from Our Throne, which is not Deposited in Her Heart of Mother First; and She forms the Maturation of that Good, She fecundates it with Her Love, She enriches it with Her Graces and, if needed, with the Virtue of Her Sorrows; and then She Deposits it in the one who must receive it, in such a way that the creature who receives it feels the Divine Paternity and the Maternity of her Celestial Mother.  We can do it without Her, but We don’t want to.  Who would have the Heart to put Her aside?  Our Love, Our Infinite Wisdom, Our very Fiat impose Themselves on Us and don’t let Us do anything that would not Descend through Her.”

Day 9 – June 24

V34 – 4.21.36 – “See the great difference:  for one who Lives in My Will the Prodigies of the Immaculate Conception were unheard-of; My Will – which Animated this Conception and from which no one can escape – called all creatures to be present, that they might remain Conceived within Her Virginal Heart, and receive Her Maternity, Her Help, Her Defense, and find Refuge and the Support of this Celestial Mother.  Now, one who Lives in Our Will finds herself in this Act of Conceiving; she is the daughter who, spontaneously, of her own human will, seeks Her Mama and takes her place, Enclosing herself in Her Maternal Heart, to let the Celestial Queen be her Mama.  This creature shall take part in the Riches of the Sovereign Lady, in Her Merits, in Her Love; she shall feel within herself Her Nobility, Her Sanctity, because she Knows to Whom she belongs, and God shall let her participate in the Infinite Goods and Exuberant Love He had in the Conception of this Holy Creature.

Feast Day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

V36 – 12.28.38 – I could always feel my mind as if it was hidden under her Maternal Wings, which never left me alone; each one of my thoughts was kept by my Loving Mother, Who gave me all her Maternal Attentions.  Her Maternity was placed in each one of My Breaths and Heartbeats; and if My Mreath and Heartbeats felt smothered by My Love and Suffering, She would Run with Her Maternity to free Me from My Suffocating Love and put Balm on My Pierced Heart.  If She Looked, Spoke, Worked and Walked – She Ran, as a Mother, to receive in Her Maternal Love My Glances, Words, Works and Steps, Investing them with Her Love and Hiding them in Her Heart.  She would also make Her Maternal Love Flow in the food She prepared for Me, so that while eating it, I could feel Her Loving Maternity.  How much more could I tell you of the expression of Her Maternity in My Sufferings?  There was not a Pain, not a Drop of the Blood I shed that was not felt by My Mother.  But after doing these things as My Mother, She would then take all My Pains and My Blood, and Hide them inside Her Maternal Heart to Love Them and continue Her Maternity.

“…I shall give My own Place in Her Maternal Heart to those who Live in My Will.  She shall Raise them for Me, Guiding their steps and Hiding them in Her Maternity and Sanctity.  Her Maternal Love and her Sanctity shall be Impressed in all their acts; they shall be Her True Children, being like Me in everything.  Oh!  how I would Love everyone to Know that if they want to Live in My Will, they have a Queen and a Powerful Mother Who shall Compensate for all they lack.  She shall Raise them on Her Maternal Lap, being with them in everything they do, Molding their acts as Her own; to the extent that they shall be Known as the Children Grown, Kept and Educated by the Loving Maternity of My Mama.  These shall be the ones who shall Make Her Happy, the ones who shall be Her Glory and Honor.”

Little Sacrifice: – Today, to Honor Me, you shall give Me your will, your pains, your tears, your anxieties, your doubts and fears, into My Maternal Hands, so that, as your Mama, I may keep them in Deposit within My Maternal Heart, as pledges of My child. And I shall Give you the Precious Pledge of the Divine Will.

“Know that I shall go all over the world; I shall go to each individual, to all families, to religious communities, to every nation, to all peoples, and if needed, I shall go about for entire centuries until, as Queen, I have Formed My People, and as Mother, My Children, who would Know the Divine Will and let It Reign everywhere. …and with Gold Characters I shall write their names in My Maternal Heart.” – Maternal Appeal of the Queen of Heaven – Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will

Trinity Sunday – The Most Holy Trinity – Solemnity

The Feast of the Holy Trinity in the Divine Will

“Adorable Trinity, hurry, delay no more;
we pray You, we press You, that Your Will descend upon earth,
make Itself known and Reign on it as It does in Heaven!”
Fiat!

Sancta Trinitas

“O Eternal God! O Eternal Trinity!
Through the Union of Thy Divine Nature Thou hast made so Precious the Blood of Thine Only-Begotten Son!
O eternal Trinity, Thou art as deep a mystery as the sea, in whom the more I seek, the more I find; and the more I find, the more I seek.
For even Immersed in the Depths of Thee, my soul is never Satisfied, always Famished and Hungering for Thee, Eternal Trinity, Wishing and Desiring to See Thee, the True Light.
O Eternal Trinity, with the Light of Understanding I have Tasted and Seen the Depths of Thy Mystery and the Beauty of Thy Creation.
In Seeing myself in Thee, I have Seen that I will Become Like Thee.
O Eternal Father, from Thy Power and Thy Wisdom clearly Thou hast Given to me a Share of that Wisdom which Belongs to Thine Only-Begotten Son.
And Truly hast the Holy Spirit, who Procedeth from Thee, Father and Son, Given to me the Desire to Love Thee.”
